How to add products and services with photos and categories

Here's how to set up what you sell in Afritelligence.

Step 1: Create your categories

Open Categories in the sidebar and add the groups you use, for example Phones, Accessories or Cement. You can rename them any time, and remove ones that no product uses. You can also type a new category straight on the product form.

Step 2: Add a product or service

1. Go to Products/Services and press Add product/service.
2. Tick This is a service for things you sell without stock, such as repairs or delivery.
3. Enter the name, choose a category and add a photo if you like; big phone photos are shrunk automatically.
4. Enter the selling price and, if you know it, the buying price.

Step 3: Choose the VAT option

• VAT included in price: the price already includes 16% VAT.
• Price + 16% VAT: VAT is added on top at the till.
• No VAT: exempt or zero-rated items.

Step 4: Opening stock

Enter how many you have on the shelf now. From then on, stock moves only through sales, deliveries, returns and stock takes.

Tip: import many items at once

Have a long price list? Use Import CSV on the products page to load items and opening stock in one go.
