Privacy policy

1. Who this covers
This policy explains how Afritelligence handles personal data when businesses and their staff use afritelligence.com and app.afritelligence.com. For the records a business keeps about its own customers and suppliers, that business is the data controller and Afritelligence processes the data on its behalf. We follow the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
2. What we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone number and business details you give when signing up or adding staff.
- Business records: products, stock, sales, purchases, expenses, and the customer and supplier details you choose to record (such as names, phone numbers and balances).
- Payments to us: the phone number and M-Pesa reference used to pay your subscription. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not see or store M-Pesa PINs.
- Security and usage data: login times, IP address and browser details, used to protect accounts, stop abuse and keep an audit log of sensitive actions.
3. How we use it
Only to provide and secure the service: to run your account, send login and verification codes, receipts and subscription reminders, keep your records, support you when you ask, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your customers' details to contact them.
4. Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the service — hosting, email delivery, website security (Cloudflare, including its human check on login and signup forms) and payment processing — each limited to what they need to do that job. We may disclose data where the law requires it.
5. Security
Passwords are stored only in hashed form. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). A login from a new device needs a code sent to your email. Each business can see only its own records, and staff see only what their role allows. Access to our servers is restricted.
6. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed for the service to work: one that keeps you logged in, one that protects forms against forgery, and one that remembers a device that has already passed an email code (for up to 60 days). We do not use advertising cookies.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your records while your account exists, including while a subscription is paused, so they are there when you renew. When an account is closed at your request we delete or anonymise its data, except where we must keep some records by law.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how it is used. Customers of a business on Afritelligence should contact that business first; we will help it respond. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya.
9. Contact
For privacy questions or requests: WhatsApp +254795289968 or [email protected]. We will update this policy if our practices change; the date above shows the latest version.
